J. Gresham Machen's Christianity & Liberalism, first published in 1923, is a defense of Biblical truth from the attacks of the liberal church. In this fascinating work, Machen explores the liberal fallacies of his day (and, as it turns out, our day) and makes well-developed contrasts between those false teachings and Biblical Christianity. Is so doing, Machen explores the perverted view that liberal infiltrators of the church hold regarding Scripture, the Person and work of Christ, doctrine, Christian living, and the church. Although Machen's efforts could not turn the liberal tide within the PCUSA, his works continue to contend for the faith long after his death.
This ebook includes a bonus volume, Machen's article entitled "The Changing Scene and the Unchanging World", which was printed in The Presbyterian Guardian in 1936. In this brief piece, Machen challenges the error of the PCUSA, on the issue of the 1934 mandate.
